At REN Fertility, family comes in many forms — and we’re here to help you create yours.

At REN Fertility, we believe everyone deserves the chance to build a family — with care that reflects who they are and what matters most to them. We offer a range of options tailored to same-sex female couples and single women, designed to support your journey from planning to pregnancy.

1. Donor Sperm Insemination (IUI)

A straightforward and often first-line option. Intrauterine insemination (IUI)involves placing prepared donor sperm directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation.

  • Can use known or clinic-recruited sperm donors(all donors are screened according to UK regulatory standards).

  • Usually performed on a natural or mildly stimulated cycle.

  • Success rates depend on age and reproductive health but are typically comparable to those in heterosexual couples using donor sperm.

2. IVF with Donor Sperm

For couples where IUI isn’t suitable — for example, if there are tubal issues or previous unsuccessful IUIs — IVF (in vitro fertilisation) may be recommended.

  • Eggs are collected from one partner and fertilised with donor sperm in the lab.

  • The resulting embryo(s) can be transferred back into the same partner or the other partner’s uterus.

3. Shared Motherhood (Reciprocal IVF)

A unique and empowering option for couples who want to both share in the experience.

  • One partner provides the eggs (the genetic parent).

  • The other carries the pregnancy (the birth parent).
This approach allows both partners to have a direct biological or emotional connection to the pregnancy.

4. Donor and Legal Considerations

We’ll help guide you through the legal and emotional aspectsof using donor sperm — including consent, parental rights, and donor anonymity rules under the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA).
